You guy might want to check

My 2019 Rallye had a far few spokes come loose after a run down to Spain, when I called Bhanstormer they said do not ride it - BMW assist will recover to us…..

I’ve just ridden the fucker home from Spain at …..mph…

Two new wheels later… you would have thought they would have learnt

Obviously not. You’d be pretty pissed if your brand new project 71 whatever fell apart in its lifetime never mind it’s first few thousand miles.

My 2019 Rallye was 5 weeks old on this trip to Spain…

When you look at the comments, people are saying the calliper came loose and destroyed the wheel.

At 41 seconds, you can see the rear calliper is completely detached and only hanging by the brake wire. I couldn't imagine it being ripped off by the spokes, if they were what failed.

I seem to remember that being the scenario on a 1250 wheel that disintegrated on the motorway a couple of years ago

There is a suggestion that the rear brake caliper came loose and destroyed the wheel. Spoke wheels do not fail like that.

I did the Globebusters trip to Beijing in 2019. 13,000 miles of decidedly mixed terrain. The number of GSs with constantly loose spokes was unbelievable. Every night there were people tightening them up.

My Rally Raid CB500X with the Rally Raid wheels never had a single spine loose. Not once. Not ever.

The GS spoke problem was the only problem more common than GS failed suspension - two failed rear and one failed front out of a dozen bikes.

Conclusion. Stock GS is only really fit for the Tesco run on the tarmac…

Maybe he couldn’t hear the caliper banging off the spoke because of the racket the gearbox makes.lol

Exactly what people said about the failure of the r1200gsa lc wheels ... except it was proved beyond doubt that a loose caliper was not damaging the wheel it was the failure of the wheel ripping off the calipers when they collapsed (hence the tens of thousands wheels replaced by BMW in the worldwide recall)
