Just received my new front YSS shock from Firefox Racing in Keighly . First impressions are very good, looks a quality bit of kit even adjustable for ride height!

Pics won't upload if anyone wants any let me know and I'll email them across. Also cost was a very modest £245

My WP shock collapsed in Malaysia and I managed to get a YSS rear shock in 10 days to get me back on the road. Thirty odd days later it collapsed. Not happy as I'd given the weight stats and the abuse it was going to have prior to ordering. They sent a new one out, no questions, no charges, no returns and that got to me within the week, this lasted several months. Replaced that with a used OE showa unit which was still going strong when I sent the bike home.

This was the rear shock that was replaced.

Maybe someone got the weight factor wrong at the other end? They do look a good bit of kit.

The OE shock is the most reliable.

It may lack the finesse and adjustability of the replacements, the damping may go off etc, but it will take more abuse and still get you home.

My standard front Showa is with ABE at the moment, they can service the crimped shock for around £100 and will pop on a Hyperpro progressive spring for whatever they cost at the moment (around £85) so seems like a good deal. I did consider the YSS until I discovered that ABE were able to do some magic..
