Zega fitting query

I am in the process of fitting a pair of zegas to my 1100, it appears that the cases will foul the rear pointing bit of the pillion footrests, the part with a plastic end held on with self tappers, the panniers and frames are used so have either been fitted to a solo bike or does everyone just chop off part of the offending bracket?

No need to remove them, the cases sit very close but mine are still on.
