Has anyone had there autocom fitted by their bmw dealer? if so ,how did they wire it up ? did they use a relay?
Fitted mine myself neg to battery positive to the back of aux plug, after 7 months of use it as apparently damaged my zf module which operates the lights:eek:
Bmw said i should have used a relay to stop spikeing, when i bought my autocom from my bmw dealer they failed to mention i would need a relay.

Oh just one more thing ,first they blamed my hid lights i bought from Les ,then the blamed my zumo power cable (which i got from the dealer) and now its the autocom system, not bad going realy ,they have only had it 15 days so far.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about how the dealers do it, but I fitted mine directly to the battery, both + and -, via a fuse and a nicely hidden switch to turn it all off. Never given me any problems, and I've not needed any sort of relay.

That said I'm sure you're not the only one who's fitted it to the aux plug.

From my recent experience of the BMW bike trade in buying a new GSA in 06 and last week an 800 I really think that they do not have a clue (see new bike problems in 800 forum).

They will bullsh1t and tell you bolux and fob you off with anything in my experience.

I am getting rather tainted with the whole dealership thing although I am still attached to the bikes, may revert to an airhead and aviod them all!!!!!

One thing that is strange, you buy a new bmw car, customer service contact you within a week to ask questions on service and the whole sales "experience", how this can be improved etc. etc., with a bike....nothing, perhaps they already know they have problems?

Rant over !!

Funny that, I'm the exact opposite, I love the good service and the aftersales "experience" (Vines Guildford are absolutely top notch IMHO), but I'm getting a bit bored of BMW bikes, nothing wrong with them, just fancy a change at some point.

Anyway back on topic :) ...

My Autocom was wired to my aux socket wiring by SPC Motorcycles in 2004/5. No problem with autocom or bike.

Your dealer is clutching at straws.
