Looking at buying Zumo 550 any day now. Found one on BT shop at £370. How do I tell if it is the latest V10. Any ideas?
It is not easy to phone them and ask, all email enquiries etc and there is no picture of the box.

How long has the v10 been out?

Thanks

V10: I have no idea, thought it might be version 10. I have seen it on ebay listings saying " this is the latest V10 maps"!!!!!!!!
even the shop I aksed said all they knew was that the newest Zumo was released in 2008.

I have seen some on ebay as V9 so I assume it means something.

got a Zumo For my birthday about 3 weeks ago, it comes with city navigator v9,
but when you register and activate your maps on-line it gives you the option to get the Free upgrade to 2008 city navigator NT, which will be sent in the post at some stage.

My understanding is that there is no such thing as V10 mapping.

The latest version of mapping is called MapSource City Navigator 2008 Europe.
Garmin UK states that henceforth the mapping versions will go by the stated year ie: MapSource City Navigator 2008 Europe---2009---2010 and such like !

i am not sure if its out yet, but v10 means version 10...i have v9, if the unit you are after can be switched on the version is stored in the map info screen on the zumo

Thanks alot. Just wot I read that threw spanner in the works but If I can do the uploads then thats xlent.

I bought a zummo 550 from www.sporttouring.co.uk last week. It came with the latest maps City Navigator 2008 (the previous map was version 9 so you can say the latest is v10.)

On the unit if i go to menu settings (spanner icon) -> map -> map info it reads

"City Navigator Europe NT 2008"

Hope this helps

Ian

Thanks. I spoke with Sportouring today and they were xlent. I can get Zumo for £370 via BT shop on web or £399 from Sportouring. To be honest if they let me have it for £390 I'd buy it from them for piece of mind that I can ring em if I have a problem. BT is email contact.

I'd rather give my money to someone who gives good service.

Thanks for all your advice

£379.00

Ordered mine from Motorworld, for the above price, collecting tomorrow.

Hi, had mine for a week now from UKdigitalcameras.co.uk about £367 plus £5 postage, came next day, think dell are doing cheaper, www.Audio66.com are £359 plus a tenner delivery, you can always find it cheaper afterwards! It is city nav europe NT 2008, map source software is V.10. Hope this helps you.

Back on topic..

If you buy it and it comes with EU V9, you are still entitled to a free upgrade to V2008 maps. So no worries here.
