I'm not sure if I need technical help, or a lobotomy!

Over the weekend I downloaded mapsource, set up some sample routes and waypoints and transferred them to my 550. OK, it wasn't an absolutely 100% straight line activity, but once achieved, seemed faultless.

With everything working I went into the route selection on the GPS and deleted all loaded routes just to clear the memory and de-clutter.

I then set about researching and planning a trip and finalised 950 miles of routes in 11 sections.

Reconnecting to the PC was no problem, transfer, absolutely fine. Made a safe disconnect from the PC, switched on the GPS, imported the routes and nothing there.

Repeated this about a dozen times, I have managed to import waypoints, transfer the file to an SD card and import from there.... everything but find the routes available for navigation.

Everything seems fine on the GPS, satellite signal good, battery good, maps et al, just not taking the routes.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this may be happening other than pure technical belligerence?

Thanks All!

Reset

Eventually plucked up courage (and knowledge) to perform a full reset - with the GPS off firmly press and hold on the bottom right hand corner of screen and press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.

First you get a screen calibration then asked if you want to reset.

Once this has run it found the transfer data still there and asked if I wanted to import.

Importing this time the routes came through - thankfully!

Transfer routes to your Garmin

Hmmm - it sounds a bit strange about your problem, that you cannot find the routes. Normally the Zumo automatically ask to import the POI and routes which you have transferred.
If not, then I normally do as follows:
1) click tool
2) click "user data"
3) click "import data"

Then you get a list of the content which are on your zumo, and you can then manually select the poi/routes which you want to import.

Allow me to make another note. On www.tourstart.org it is possible to make a free login where you can create motorcycle routes and share with other motorcyclists. Any route can be downloaded to Garmin, TomTom or Navigon - directly via the USB. Hereby you have all routes online and ready for download whereever you are and any motorcyclist world wide can ride the same route (should you make it public)
