Hi All

Hoping that someone can help, i have been trying to update my unit using basemap on my mac and all has gone well apart from it wont boot up anymore when the SD card is installed.

Also the POI that i have deleted from the system are still appearing within the unit, does anyone know where these are hidden so that i can delete them from my system.

Thanks in advance.

Already tried that and it made no difference so does anyone know of a factory reset not the soft reset?

Many thanks in advance

Folders

I had my songs on the card in one folder and it wouldn't boot. Split them into folders by artist and it boots fine. Can't seem to read long file lists.

It's funny you mention that, I just updated to 2013.1 on my PC and I'm getting the same problem.

I have already split my songs up into folders.

From what I can tell, the Zumo firmware has been updated because I now get an activity bar on the screen when it boots, which it never did before. When it gets to the RHS, the Zumo just turns off. The basemap in the Zumo itself is fine, but I have all of Europe in the SD card. I suspect that the file has just got too big for the unit to handle - I'll upload a smaller basemap now and see if it boots.

Another problem - when I connect it to the PC, it hangs on the transferring waypoints screen at 1%, saying "loading maps..." underneath. If I remove the SD card, it gets into storage mode (although the PC is now throwing a wobbly)

Apparently having a large number of POIs can cause this issue - in my case, that would be the speed camera database .

Did you delete all POIs? from the directories in the Zumo and the SD card?

Thanks Guys

I have the same problem with the activity bar however i dont have any music on my Zumo as i have an Iphone for that.

Does anyone know of a factory reset to get it back to the factory out of the box reset?

many thanks

From the zumo forum
Turn unit off then hold your thumb on the furthest bottom right hand corner of the screen, push as far into the corner as you can on the screen itself. While holding your thumb/finger on the screen press and hold the power on button until you see the Zumo splash screen, once the splash screen is up you can release the power but continue to hold your thumb in the right corner of the screen for a few more seconds, you should see a window that pops up and asks "Do you really want to erase all the user data?" make sure to answer yes. If you don't see this window then turn the unit off and try the above again.

After the reset place the unit in an open sky view location, staionary for at least 20 minutes to rebuild satellite memory.

By the way, I've just uploaded a slightly smaller basemap set to my 500 and it boots with the card in. :thumb2
