any secret as to how to take the cover off the satnav mount? I am borrowing a 12GS TE for a couple of days and want to mount my zumo 660 in the cradle mount. Looks simple just press in the lever on right side? does not want to move though???

Also any tips for updating software on the zumo 660 to allow the wheel to work?

Ta:D

You have to unlock it with the ignition key, then slide the lever on the top left out, then push lever on top right...... Or something like that.
There is no soft wear update to make a std 660 work with the wheel.

Correct, bare in mind the left lever is behind the mount and a little trick to get to.:thumb

:thumbThanks didn't see the lever at the back on the left:D Holds the zumo really well, a bit of a bugger to get back out of the mount. as you say the wheel doesn't do anything:beerjug:

you would think there should be a software update to allow it to work though.

The only problem I have with not having the control wheel coupled with the Zumo 660 is that the wheel gets in the way of my thumb when using the signal. Other than that, my feeling is that if you need a wheel to control your GPS, then you're far too busy fiddling with it when you should be busy looking where you're going. And if you're stopped, touching the screen works beautifully.

I have travelled 10,000 plus miles with the 'wheel' on a K1600. The only nice to have is the ability to zoom by pressing your thumb approaching junctions or when off route and you want to zoom out to gain a view of where you are.

Now this ability costs a few hundred pounds versus the plain 660 which is now approaching £330 in the shops.

On the GS the satnav is very close to the rider and easy to control by touching the screen but you have to look at the screen to touch it. Get it?

So if you have the dosh you have a choice.
