hi guys my zumo 660 pings when i am in a camera zone in the car ,the problem is as soon as i drift over the limit it pings and when i am in an area that did have average speed cameras on a few years ago it still pings even though the cameras have now gone (a1 south of scotch corner for 18 miles)
so how on earth do i turn off speed camera ping ping sound
cheers ian

Can't remember where I'm the menus it is but its called 'proximity warning' or something similar.

its funny mate i have updated it but the cameras that were south of scotch corner went a good few years ago and yet the zumo pings every few seconds when i go down there .
yip found it in proximity many many thanks
cheers guys

I too have updated my 660 and it seems that Garmin (or whoever) hasn't done an update of the current data. There are areas that have cameras removed and yet the unit still pings a warning. There are also speed limits that are wrong as a few roads I travel along ping a speed warning too (50 limit, but unit says 25...don't know of any limits here @ 25 mph and 20 mph ping in a 40 limit).
I did phone Garmin, but they nothing and blamed it on someone else.

try SCDB, website, for about £8 they provide a full list of all speed cameras, traffic lights for uk and europe, plus full instructions on how to download it to your garmin (or whatever gpsr you use), which is pretty well numpty proof ( it worked for me!)
then you can switch off garmin stuff and just use their stuff

still suffer from the dingy noise, but at least there are actual check sites involved
wish i could find a way to modify the ding so it does not keep dinging thru the warning zone....oh, I suppose I could slow down:blast

Any further feedback on accuracy of SCDB database?
Think of paying out - and wondered on others views of how up-to-date for UK?
Thanks
