after riding home in some pretty hefty rain last night, my zumo has this morning decided to start turning itself off on it's own.

i have it wired up to the battery so that it can be booting up while i'm getting kitted up, but this morning when i turned on the ignition, it turned itself off. it did it again when i started up after stopping for fuel, and again when i got to work and tested it to see if it was still playing up. it also turned itself off for no reason twice on the way to work.

any ideas?

I have no expert knowledge on this at all - could it be water has got onto/into the connections on your bike mount? Maybe if you could ensure that the bike mount and the metal pins are properky dried out first and then connect?
The Zumo itself is sold as waterproof so its doubtful its the unit itself(?)
I smear vaseline onto the metal connectors on the bike mount and, if the bike mount has got seriously wet, leave the plastic cover off overnight to make sure no water is just sitting there - also leaving the bike on its side stand so the water can drain from the mount helps.

Someone will now come along with much greater knowledge and totally contradict everything I've said :D
Good luck :thumb2

thanks for the help, traveller. but i don't think its that. if it was getting intemittent power loss, surely it would come up with the "loss of external power. continue on battey power?" prompt.

this is an instant shutdown, like pressing the OFF button. and it boots up again as normal, right afterwards.
