Suspension Adjustment ... reply

EDIT.... sorry supposed to be an answer to "Suspension Adjustment" thread but my PC went wappy!

... a very varied & extensive topic. Too much to go into in detail here..... but my tupence worth is....

Start off with the preload on standard factory settings & slacken off the rebound at the rear, go for a quick ride. This should feel fairly awful but it'll give you something to gauge it by. Now tighten the rebound up again past the factory neutral setting. Go for a ride again (watch out for high speed wobbles). When your finally happy(ish) with the rebound you can start to play with the preload front & rear..... you can go fairly extreme with these until you find your setting.... & test ride, test ride, test ride. Finally ditch the original shocks & buy an Ohlins.
The GS should be a great handling bike, if it isn't then something is wrong & needs changing.
