Hi all,

I'd hoped the questionable title to this thread might attract some attention.

I'm trying to mount the RAM Aqua box to my GSA, but have ordered at least one wrong part already.

I've got the box, a round base with AMPS Pattern and 1" ball, and a double socket short arm 1" ball fitting. Seems ok so far? But I've got the 1" base ball with hole and M8 screw, which won't fit the handlebar bracket where I was hoping to fit it all.

So, I've got the box, connecting ball attachment for the box and a short arm connector for 2 balls, but what 1" ball part should I have ordered to fit it all to my handlebar bracket ?

Answers on a SAE postcard, please. Or preferably on this website, thanks.

Isn't ...

... the 1" ball & m8 screw a replacement for one of the handlebar clamp bolts ?

I may be wrong (again) but that's the set up we use on Jaqs bike :thumb

Nah, afraid not on my bike.

Original handlebar clamp bolt is 10mm by 100mm, by my rough measurement.

The replacement bolts are far too small, as is the bore on the RAM ball mount, which is only about 11mm external diameter .

Think I'm buggered on this one !

:augie

Please note as I shall post it once :D

12GS has M8 x 1.25 tpi x 30mm

12GSA has a *mix* of M8 and M10,
so M8 x 1.25 tpi x 30mm and M10 x 1.25 tpi x 30mm

on a 12GSA check the front and back yoke clamp cap socket screws

It's all Dutch to me, I'm afraid.

On my '09 GSA the fittings are the M10 and are 10cm or 100 mm long but only threaded for about half of that.

Dunno what tpi is, so can't measure that.

Thanks for the help though,.
