So I have a 1250 GSA with Anakee adventure 80/20 tyres.

I don’t mind the tyres, but I am going in May for a tour in France in May for 10 days. At present, the chance of going off road is zero, maybe one day, but not now.

So I am going to get some road tyres which I will also feel more confident on.

My research I am between Metzeler Roadtec 01 and new Michelin Road 6.

I have read a lot about puncture issues on Michelin Road 5 so raises question if this could be similar for the Road 6, but as they are new no one will know.

My gut says go with the Metzeler, but after searches not seen a lot of the forum about them so welcome any feedback before I make my purchase.

Both will do fine and you might find your decision is dictated by available stock. I would suggest ordering now as I think the usual demand in May might overwhelm the compromised supply chain.

IF YOUR WANTING THEM TO LAST THE MILES ,I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE ONES TO BUY ARE
CONTINENTAL road attack 3

Just done 7.500 miles heavily laden on Metzeler Tourance Next's. Very good grip in wet and dry + some off road. There's still a great deal left in them, maybe another 2-3,000 miles. As an aside I understand the new Metzeler Tourance Next 2's are out and offer even more mileage. They'll be going on my 21 GSA next. Have fun in France :-)

Well thanks for the response so far. I not concerned with how much mileage I get out of the tyres, more confidence when riding. Not even considered the Conti but will look into now.

Metzeler have a lot of positive reviews……

2's for me this year too.

Had 4 sets of Road 5 in total on my previous 2 bikes and have never had a puncture. They were worn till the end. Well, it was not GS but Suzuki DL1000 both bikes and all got over 10.000 km's of life.
I also have Anekee's on my new GS and waiting for them to ware off to get Road 6.

As I will only ride on road and with the valuable input from the forum it’s down to Conti Road Attack v Metzeler Roadtec. Price is not important here, it is confidence in the twisteise.

Thank you for the input, I would never had looked at the conti on my searches on the forum.

Tried all of the above . Conti TA 3 blows them away .
Best set of boots for the Gs .

I Agree with Stick, I currently have Conti TA3 on my R1250 GSA great tyres.

Thought I would try a pair of Metzeler M9 RR's which I have on order, due end February / March.

That will be an interesting set as I was to get a set on the Gs , but now have the V4 so will be running Rosso 4 .

Rich , The CTA3 will give to great feel , fantastic grip and fast warm up times . They get hot on a cold day and are also good in the rain . If you like the twisties these are the set as they are an accurate line maker and steady when braking and cornering .
The Roadtech for me were a good tyre but when pushing hard the front would squirm under heavy braking ( on the twisties) and this could be un nerving . This I felt was due to the lean towards a more wet tyre with more sipes cut in the tread , so had the similar effect as running an intermediate tyre too long but saying that they did perform well but disliked the feel of the front.
Hope this helps , we all ride in a different way so this may not affect you , but if you like corners it might .
Ride safe

not the road attacks, i found they felt as if squared off from almost the get go. saying that if you can put up with that the grip and last well.
