Fuel pump relay thingy decided to pack up after fuelling up on y=the way into work this morning. BMW assist guy turned up and luclily had several on board 'as they always pack up'. Proved mine was fecked with a voltmeter, put on a new one, still no joy despite current now getting current to fuel pump. Tried yet another and this time hit the fuel pump a few time with a hammer as 'it sometimes works'. BTW he suggested I always carry a spare relay as the 'only' cost about £50!!! He gave up and arranged recovery to Sarf London MC's. He called ahead and told them it need a relay AND a pump. SLM replaced the relay (only) and it worked
.
Six wasted hours in total and I'm working late so that I can bill for HALF a days work.
Not happy
While I was in SLM I asked if they could remove some fluid from the clutch resevoir as the level had gone up and it's not easy getting the cap off without the tool. They decided that the reason the level had gone up is that the gearbox seal had gone possibly causing premature cluth wear (although it still works fine). So that 's another warranty job for the future (BTW it's an 06 bike) along with the corroded fuel filler I pointed out to them today which they are also going to replace.
The warranty work will be done when the bike is booked in to fix the damage caused when somebody (alright a bint in a 4x4) reversed into me last week causing 1800 quids worth of scratches.
I need a drink
