I've just tried to use Mapsource and get the error

"There is a problem with Mapsource registry. Please Re-install Mapsoursce and try again"

Tried re-installing CNv8 - gets all the way through the install then gets to the unlock point and says

" There is a problem with the Unlockwizard registry. Please re-install the unlock wizard and start it again"

it was fine last time I used it - I guess something got corrupted somewhere?

I've tried:

Uninstalling cn v8 and v9 and re-installing
Uninstalling and deleting the Garmin registry keys

Same result.

It's a while since I installed the software - I am right in thinking that MapSource installs with the CN software?

Any ideas?

thanks,

I'm not using Vista until I absolutely have to!

I'm on XP Pro.

Does mapsource install separately to CN?

I can't recall ever seeing a Mapsource CD anywhere - I've got CN 8 and 9, but not Mapsource - it's 2-3 years since I did my initial install, is Mapsource always a separate download and install?

I've found Mapsource here so I'm downloading it now

You get some version of Mapsource with the City Nav disks.

If you go to control panel, uninstall programmes you'll probably see Mapsource and City Nav as seperate items. Try deleting one and seeing how it messes up things ;)

Done that, installed the downloaded latest version - same message.

I already uninstalled CN 8, CN 9 and Mapsource.

Any other ideas?

Sorted.

Found an old unlock file on the hard drive, deleted that, removed CN8, CN9 and mapsource, deleted Garmin registry keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Installed again re-entering the unlock codes, then ran the downloaded update.:thumb2
