I meant the 6000 mile service was done for 250 not the 600 mile .

Still £180 to change oil and filter is hardly a give-away as you could do it yourself in under an hour for about £45

Are you not going to bother doing the valve clearances then?![]()
Are they every 6k?

Sorry to hear of your problems but i had the same sort of shafting from Park Lane when i bought a K1300GT SE. I managed to go over the first service by 60 (YES SIXTY!!! ONLY) miles and they not only invalidated my warranty ...
Guys
Not sure if I have been over charged for a service. I have typed the invoice contents as I can’t use the attachment functionality on the site. I was invoiced this by BMW Motorrad Battersea. I have a 2006 R1200GS that I purchased from South London BMW when it had 2000 miles on the clock. They serviced the bike prior to me picking it up; I subsequently took it to Battersea with 8000 on the clock for what is effectively the 6000 mile service.
Please note that for completeness I have included the £29.65 for the MOT that I asked for you should discount this when looking at the amounts below.
Please add your comments; it would be great to hear any thoughts / similar experiences on this. I was a bit surprised at the cost as there was absolutely nothing wrong with the bike. It would be good to know if this is the going price.

Having looked at this one a few times the answer would be no.
What you've had is a 6k service plus a 4 year annual . The bike is an 06 & we're in 2010.
The brake fluid issues are that you've had the front & rear abs wheel circuits done ( every 2 years) but then its had the control circuits done as well which are every 4 years.
I assume the "oil change "is for the rear axle which is done every 2 years or 12k.
"Brake check" is listed on the service sheet & is a chargeable extra - its nothing more than working through a specified check list on the GT1 & most of what's on is already encompassed in the service.
I think you'll find most dealers don't charge for that bit - but don't forget Park Lane is subsidery of BMW.
"take off rubbers" will be the throttle body vac take offs (where you connect your vac gauges to) & they do split/perish over time
Factor in their labour charges & the bill looks plausible
