£5999 for a new 790 Duke

I see there is £5500 of a Multistrade right now, see £4k off a Fireblade, £5k of an Aprillia RSV, £2k of Triump Exploders, and the same happens every year, but people bang on about this being a KTM thing, weird.

Now, right now there really is a fire sale on some KTM's, personally i'd steer clear of a parralel twin until someone has 100% found a fix for the cam issues, but AFIAK the 390's are fine, as are the other singles and the V-Twins, any of them cropping up at the price of a 3 year old competitors machine is well worth a punt.

£5k off a 1290 and i'm gonna be checking down the back of the sofa.

Everyone seems to be shifting non Euro5+ bikes at bargain prices, some are going the pre-registered route. Some great deals around at the moment if you are after a new bike. If you are actually after a KTM I wouldn't let all of the stuff going on with them put you off, they pretty much look like they will still be here in a year's time, and may well be better for it.

Honda Vs KTM Camshafts - OK guys, it was a long time, Honda learned their lesson.

I'd take the new 800 Tiger sport over an SMT personally, in fact may even downsize to one if I like it enough, Triumph seem to listed to what people want, 17" front, 115BHP, £11k RRP, panniers that can take helmets - and you can fit two in the top box!

So unless they start knocking out 1290 Adventures for £11k I may be heading to Triumph, or just keeping my 1290 as it looks great and performs great, and fully loaded is only likely to net me £7.5k, and I know it is reliable as its been fine for the last 6 years.

Think the standard Hornet is £9k. The SP is another grand, but still superb value. There's only 1000 bikes in total coming to the UK in 2025 and they're gonna sellout pretty quickly I reckon. Before the camshaft fiasco I'd have taken the 890SMT over the Triumph, Tracer etc any day, but if I was still in that market I'd avoid the KTM. Just don't trust that twin design

That has to be a bargain at face value. With all the bad press on forums and in the news it would make sense for KTM UK to make a statement on their website about their commitment to the uk, the status of their dealer network, the future prognosis for the 790 engines built in this year, and their commitment to honouring any subsequent warranty changes.

In the absence of the above, as a potential buyer you are left wondering if it could all go tits up imminently.

This was my feeling also, I would hate to splash out on a bike to find the manufacturer had no interest in helping me in the future if things went wrong

Interesting to note how many folk come to the dedicated KTM section of the site simply to lambast KTM bikes/pricing/warranty/deals, whilst sharing which bikes they would rather buy.

Just go and buy the bike you want and stop whining about bikes you wouldn’t buy.
