it could be (hopefully) a dicky cable, possibly stretching, worth trying another i suppose, downside is, if there is something wrong with the clutch it could go beyond repair


And on a side note......how much slack are you guys with the high mileage opting for? The by the book recommended amount or the 4mm plus range?
Just curious because I want to set up mine like yours.
I'd definitely go with a little more clutch free play. There seems to be a penchant for BMW to adjust it too tight from what I've seen, which is guaranteed to cause a bit of slip and wear.

I have just covered 4000 miles from new on my F800GS, and am alarmed by how much I keep having to adjust the clutch.
I am not overweight!!
I do not cover/slip the clutch!!
The wear is so great I might soon run out of adjustment on the cable. Has anyone else experienced this. Am I likely to need to re-place my clutch shortly?
