I just took delivery of the Kaoko throttle lock today, and installed it along with the Touratech hand guards I've had sitting around for a while. Installation was a breeze, and I managed to get in a short test ride before the Oregon rain hit again. Works like a charm, and the guards do a great job of keeping my hands out of the wind. I've always gone with Throttlemeister with my other bikes. But they don't have one that works with anyone's hand guards yet. I think the Kaoko is easier to use.

That bike looks totally sorted out David! Well done!! Can you tell us more about the Kaoko throttle lock? I've got the BMW handguards - think the Kaoko would fit? Would I have to cut anything (I'm not a mechanic by any stretch!). I was also thinking about a simple palm rest for my daily 30 minute blasts to work here in SoCal.
Thanks for any info or advice. Planning a trip with a fellow 800GS rider to Death Valley in the next month or so; should be a blast! ;-)
