► Lights, indicators, electrics and alarm

No problem with the handlebar or hand/wind protectors at all.

The lights are from a italian manufaturer (lampa.it). It's a fog light with H3 built in led's. Actually I would prefer a beam light with H7 for better head light and separate led's for visibility. But the bar to install lights on works great and I can recommend that one.

I now have my light brackets fitted. My brother Dave (How much on this group) has made these brackets from aircraft grate alloy which is very light weight yet also very strong. The brackets mounting position is very sturdy and lights can be mounted above or/and below so both fogs and spots can use the same bracket. They are powder coated and will come supplied with all mounting bolts and spacers. I have posted a link to his add in vendors section of this site

and hopefully a photo on here

the lights I picked up in Halfords for £24 , they may not be HID but a replacement bulb is only a couple of quid if needed.

Light Fitting

I went on about a 500 mile round trip at the weekend (F800GS). Of which about a couple of kilometers were on a farm gravel road and a field.

As I was riding along a clunking noise started from the front of the bike. Quite loud and distinctive.

I stopped and had a look- the whole light fitting at the front was loose- the screw holding it in on the left hand side had dissapeered.

How dissapointing- first bit of off road and the thing falls apart. I had to bodge it with gaffer tape as there was no east zip tie fix for it. It got me home- but now am worried, what else is loose... :(

If you drop Les Wassall a PM he'll email you some photos of a 650 installation which he has done.
