I was completely off the throttle for at least 10 seconds before the cutout. Was not coming down from a high speed run. No blipping. In 2nd gear coasting with clutch in from 15mph to about 5 mph. Was on the rear brake a little.

Hi klarue,
Ive not had any problems in the rain, and boy have we had some rain (in the uk) this year,
I'd be very interested to find out what the guys at BMW say when they take yours in for service

I don't think this is the cause. I've had the remap and it hasn't cut out since 5 months on. I blip the throttle a lot with no ill effects.![]()
I would suggest you get the remap.
There is also the chance that a bike can cut out through rider error.![]()
I'm with you on this one John.
I blip the throttle like it's going out of fashion, (ex motocross habits die hard), and I've never stalled mine once. Mines from the second batch of 800's which arrived in the UK in October so would have come with the remap preinstalled.
Bip, blipity-blip!
Bip, blipity-blip!
There was an issue on early 1200's with canbus electrics where the ring antenna was affected by the induction loop system fitted on petrol station forecourts. Not that I have any truck with such modernities as canbus systems, but it might give you somewhere to start ? Did you push it out of the gas-station to the recovery truck, only to find it would start ?Hey guys - has anyone heard of an F800 "not" starting? I had this problem last month. Bike has 4800 miles on it and no other problems or hints of problems before this event. Here's what happened: stopped to refuel after about an hour 20 of non-stop riding between 45 and 70 MPH. Went inside to pay, the food smelled so good I sat down to eat. 45 minutes later when I geared up to go, the bike wouldn't fire. Had plenty of battery and turned over nicely, just wouldn't start. After trying to start it for two hours, I had it towed home, it was a Suday and no shops are open in Texas until Tuesday. so of course it starts up just fine when the tow arrives to carry it to the dealership. I called the dealer and they tell me to bring it in anyway so they can have a look - it's been there for a month and they are stumped, have no idea what the issue is. So - I'm asking if anyone has heard of an issue like this and if not, what is the typical next step for some type of action out of BMW or the dealership?
BTW - I love the bike, just want to ride it
Do the bikes run better on Super unleaded fuel ?
