I curently have a 05 1200gs [8,500mls] with many extras adv screen crash bars cylinder gaurds ect, the bike is in imaculate condition. luvly bike to ride however ive always wanted the adventure. the adv i have my eye on in local dealer is a o8gsa with 2400mls for 9495 with dynamic and premium packs on it. The dilema i have is should i splash out on the gsa or borrow a little more and purchase some spoked wheels ect, bareing in mind my curent bike is five years old now.

If you've always wanted a GSA then I'd say get it - I have one and it's the best bike I've ridden (not necessarily the fastest though).

Seems to me that you've tried to turn a normal GS into a GSA anyway - if you've got the cash to spare, make the change :)

£9495!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a two year old bike, you can have a new one for very little more with full warranty not the second hand one, shop around and you'll find 2010 bikes sitting on shop floors waiting to be had, still a buyers market:augie

Keep what you have got, until you are in a position for a 2010 model, in fact there a very nice one for sale on this site now!:) (not mine unfortunately)

Get the twin cam it's worth it.

I had an 06 GSA that was, well, boring, more old school boxer. Now with twin cam and higher compression the bike performs like a 1200cc engine should do (however, more complexity and higher compression in a BMW boxer must mean less reliability I think :hide )
