Very very nice, apart from the front top line of the tank and headstock relationship........it needs a better tank to complete it :rob

Superbly worked up 11, looks fab! I actually like the tank, gives that very BMW-ish signature to otherwise non-BMWish bike, just powdercoat that rear wheel to black, or even better, polish out the front rim to metallic to match with rear and it's done :clap

I think it looks absolutely shite, what a mess..... the colour, the lines, in fact everything about it is naff.

Now, being as I am such a 'nice' chap can you let John know that I am willing to take it off his hands for him...... I will even give him a 'couple' of £ for it too if that helps him out :D

I rather thought that the big boxer engine and paralever kind of screamed BMW but I'm with you on the tank. Being so far back it probably allows for a better turning circle too. I'd have had the seat base extended forward under the swage line on the tank which would add some grip and tank protection from the knees. It would also cover the frame and tank mounting bolt making it look a bit more integrated.

Has the headstock been heavily modified to take the extra stress now that the forks don't have the front wishbone mounting to the engine block/frame.

It looks great, what did the weight come out at and how is it on fuel compared to an injected lump?

" the front frame is my own design (modified BMW ).I have done about 200 mls around the Derbishire green lanes on it & its still in one piece,I just set out to build a cheep alternative to a HP2 & it seems to work " John Wilkinson

It might be a cheap alternative (to build) but it's not a cheap alternative, I think the characteristics of that engine would make it an equal alternative - can you fit the lower geared 850 rear hub to these?
