1100 prices - £6k

1100 prices

Yes, I believe they are going up, as well they should(at least good clean one's) !:augie:augie
But,Surely these guys are in dream land

Yes, I saw that when doing a search for a Honda Africa Twin, a bike in which they also specialise and seem to be equally OTT on pricing. Anyway, with a low mileage like that the 1100GS advertised probably still has the M94 box just waiting to pop the input bearing and/or start "skipping" in second of third gear. I made the mistake of buying a pre-1997 oilhead, albeit an RS and had to deal with all the issues that went wrong and could have been avoided by buying a 1997 - on one.

The price they're being advertised for isn't necessarily the price they actually sell for.:rob

Fuck off 6k for a 20 year old bike, it's a fucking motorcycle so unless he's adapted it to make beer whilst you ride he's having a fucking laugh!

No doubt some fucking window licker will buy it though.

I recently saw an 1150 Adv advertised on eBay which I saw when I bought my replacement at the end of 2012. What a bike is advertised for means nothing - have a look at completed listings on eBay if you want to know the market value of a bike...

Well I got £1k in part ex for my 50k '94 1100 with a warranty replacement M97 gearbox (did have a couple of 'issues' though, hence the part-ex). Perhaps I should have kept it and sorted it out...

A 20 year old bike for £6000 seems cheap to me.

I saw a Brough Superior fetch £140,000 last year....I think it was closer to 50 years old. 20 year old Ducati SS750, SS900, SS Darmah (which I had, not the Sport SD - they only built 310 of the SS version) Mike Hailwood Replica 900 - they are all going for around £20,000 now. I got £3000 for my SS900 Darmah and thought I had done Ok.

The early 1100 on the Gumtree ad has the weak early gearbox (taper roller bearings) and a plastic tank that are becoming increasingly prone to bubbling. Apart from that I'd love one in that condition again.

You also get those bare ally rims that look great but are a pain in the arse to keep clean.

I sold my 1980 Jota for £1600 and thought I'd done well. I console myself that even if had been worth £20,000 now it would have cost more than that to have kept on the road for all these years.
