
Didn't I read somewhere that SS on wheels - any wheels is a no no, something to do with the hardness and not streching enough, plus the risk of stripping the hub threads.

The standard ones aren't expensive (from BMW) and as long as you don't let anyone use an air-ratchet on them the coating will last.
If I get my bike back together this weekend I shall pop down and price some up.

Or stick them through a piece of cardboard and give them a quick spray with silver smoothrite![]()

Do you reckon this would be the same for the bolts that hold the brake caliper onto the rear drive?
