hi,my 1150 is hard to start and seems to drop onto 1 cylinder on tick over intermittently ,its had new plugs and was running fine.any ideas??

Revisit the work done and the components replaced since it was last running OK.

Check that your throttle cables are seated correctly in the throttle bodies, just incase you have disturbed them.

Have you got an update for us?, have you fixed it, and if so what was the problem:nenau

If not do you feel up to answering Steptoe's question, it helps with diagnosing problems knowing which model of bike you have, they are different.:bounce1

We are here to help.:thumb2

ok,checked cables, electrical connections ,removed the tank and gave everything a good clean.she is now up and running but will cut out when cold with a small backfire, but once warm all seems ok .ht leads look as if they may have been rubbing so am wondering if this is part of the problem.will give it a decent run this week and get it properly warm and go from there.thanks for all the replies and help, now i just have to sort the 1200 gear position sensor problem before it goes into a container to sa next week :) the joys of bikes and little time and money!!

You should have mentioned that in your first post. The answer to your problem would have been posted within 2 minutes........

The one and only, .... throttle cable dislodge - it even has it's own thread in the " is your bike running rough" section :D

Oh and it wasn't the cables as it's the first thing I checked as it's happened before but thanks for the telling off

Thank you Welshman I will give it a go.last time we made it up the George and the small Karoo so this time we hope to venture further.

Have you checked or changed the fuel filter, not unknown for them to give you problems, also wiring to hall trigger. Good luck with your trip sound great.
