Just wondering if anyone had any pics of the internals of a speedo drive?
Mine isn't working so I've dismantled it - it's sooooo simple. The knurled plastic ring that engages with the cable drive on one side, and slots into the hub drive on the other looks ok and drives the speedo cable if I rotate it manually. The plastic castellations look a bit worn but I don't exactly know how much they should protrude. The metal tabs on the drive in the hub that engage with the plastic castellations look ok too but.... they're not engaging when it's all assembled so the speedo drive doesn't turn.
Question is, is it the plastic driver or is it the metal tabbed washer that's buggered
I guess both bits are cheap enough if you can get them separately but I was wondering if anybody else had had this problem? I think the cause was a buggered speedo cable that became very stiff to turn and that probably put too much strain on the internals of the drive in the hub.
