1200 GS Ebay sale

Hi Othello, I'm interested. Could you put the bike up in the for sale section with some photos.

Hi John.. The only reason I mentioned it was as a response to your request and I thought I'd try and help you out if you're looking for one. To advertise I need to be a sponsor and I'm not.
If you want to call me I'll tell you about it and send you some pics.

I need to respect Mike's request to not advertise.

EBay GS1200

Good evening gentlemen (and ladies)! This is jafdp, the Ebayer's selling the BMW R1200GS. It looks like we have caused quite a stir! So, here we are to put the Record Straight!

Firstly, we are not emigrating (sadly), however, we have bought a property in Southern Spain - hence the need to release some cash (lots!).

Secondly, regarding HPi. Clearly we would welcome anyone who wishes to get this check done, to do so. However, you can be 100% assured that there is no finance, no loan, and has never been subject to any type of insurance claim. It has never been in any type of accident.

Furthermore regarding Ebay, yes there are some Thieving Scammers out there, however, please look at our rating of 116 and 99.2% positive feedback - that equates to 1 neutral feedback response since we have been using Ebay. I would also like to say that Ebay is a fantastic trading place provided you use it properly and keep your wits about you. This is why I decided to place my BM up for sale on it! And yes it is at a fantastic, but realistic price - priced to sell, not to rip anyone off!

I am quite amused by Detective Fanums investigating skills and analysis of the pictures! Perhaps he should consider a career the same as me (where I am a genuine Detective!!)

I would like to say that I have had a tremendous response from Ebay - inundated with emails and since I posted the mobile number, it has been ringing off the hook.

Finally, the bike is NOT an import, as Detective Fanum pointed out quite rightly that the Tax Disc shows it as a UK bike - however, I laughed out loud regarding the "architecture" looks right.......I'm not sure what that means! Perhaps we don't look like we live in a house where we are buying a property in Spain!!!!

I hope this has answered all the questions from the thread - we would welcome any further suggestions or comments!

Thanks

jafdp

Sorry, not quite.........

What Baglux tank bag do you use to go with your cover?

Best of luck selling. Hope the purchase in Spain goes well.

It's a black one! Sorry mate, don't know what make it is without going out in the garage to have a look - I've got my tea in front of me, slobbing out watching a Place In Spain.... will go look later......maybe!

Hi Jafdp, I do hope I havent caused you any problems by asking about your sale in GSer's :)

I'm such a coward when it come to parting with cash :D

I'm still watching the sale but the bank I was originally getting the loan from has sneakily changed rates overnight so now I'm back to scouring the internet for the best rate.

Good luck anyway but as I said I will keep you posted :)

John, have you tried Tesco? Look at their website for details then give them a ring. They even send a courier to your door with the documents for you to sign! Great service and low apr.
Andy.

He's probably referring to the ads on ebay for cheap GSXs and the like which claim to be a UK bike, but the architecture is large bungalow villas, oddly thick and prostrate grass, and palm trees. They crop up regularly....and its not Torquay!

Hi Everyone,
I was lucky enough to win the bid on Ebay and am now the very proud owner of an R1200GS. By pure coincidence my cousin owns the BMW dealership where the bike was originally supplied from, so I checked its history out before bidding.

I have to say it is an amazing bike and very different to my other bike, a Yamaha Thundercat. So far I have added H&B crash bars, put some preload on the front shock and stripped/cleaned the front brake pads and calipers. One pad was seized each side so she should stop even better now they are cleaned. The gear shift is a little clunky in 1st/2nd but my mate with a GS1150 Adventure reckons they are all like it so I hope I can now relax a little.

I hope to put some miles in now and become a long-term owner and advocate of the BMW GS series, starting with a tour of Ireland in Early June. I am also keeping my Yamaha as she is "one of the family".

Hope to meet a few forum members in the future.

Regards

Pukmeister
