Hi I need some help and advice please, after my 1200GS 05 plate being laid up during the bad weather approx 2 weeks enduring the rain snow and ice as I have no shed or garage I finally got back on board but found that the oil warning light didnt go out as usual, in fact as the bike was low on fuel and the yellow light was pulsating the red oil light was alternating with it until after about 5 mins it went out. I know there was sufficient oil in the bike and I have double checked since.
I have ridden three times since, once no light came on the other two times I had the initial problem once the pulsating light and today the light just stayed on. Both times the light went out after 5 or so minutes, Can any one suggest what may be wrong please.:bow

I'm not sure where the oil sensor is on the 1200 but perhaps your oil settled and you had sludge in it (when was it last changed?). The light going out would indicate it has got warmer. Try a full oil change (and filter if that hasn't been done recently).

Ahhhh! thanks all who responded, I think a little fuel in the tank may do the trick.:aidan

Contacted a motorad mech, thinks it's either the oil pressure sender unit or a faulty circuit will post when I know for sure, once again thanks for the help:clap
