I think the new bike is nice, so stop whinging about it.
I didnt like the look of the 1200. It looked too small and refined.
But this one is no bad at all. Its like when they get an ugly burd and put her on that extreme makeover programme. Same person in the end, but lets say, visually enhanced.
I think that getting rid of that stupid mushroomy rack tower has improved its looks a lot. The black rims and frame do the same.
Even the plastic tank covers are better.
They have somehow, as they did with the previous adv, made the crashbars look good.
All in all, a good job. Although I havnt seen it in the flesh yet so I might change me mind.
I cant see where all the vitriol is coming from though. No one complained before about the image of roundtheworldlyness. And who cares about short people anyway. If yer feet cant touch the ground .. hard luck, buy a smaller bike shortarse. You should have eaten your broccoli.
Unfortunately, I will have to wait till they are well into secondhandiness before I could consider getting one. By that time you will all be complaining about the new 1250adv.

!!!! Yes, the Pan was new, cost a fortune with the extras and I lost loads on it after a year and a bit. Why dont you buy an 05 1200 with a few miles on (there are a couple in the for sale section) cheap as chips for around 8k then put Ohlins on, decent ali. boxes(Metal Mule have a great new set up for a 'slim' 1200) fastway pegs a few TT trick bits and you will have all the GS you need and have money in your pocket. I know you want to keep the weight down, thats why i never bought a 1150GSA far to heavy, the 1200GS offers a strong weight advantage and even after fitting engine bars and rocker cover protectors still offers a good weight gain over the GSA.
