Can somebody give me a quick run down on the BMW alarm factory fitted to my 1200 GSA, mine did'nt come with the booklet, at the moment it appears to only arm with the blipper, and the motion sensor seems to not be operating, also no beep to confirm arming :nenau A silent alarm at the moment

Hi shep, hows the GSA12 going.

Concerning the the alarm:

1: pressing the left button once, alarm activated, indicators flash X2.

2: pressing the left button again, deactivates the motion sensor, indicators flash X3 times.

3: pressing the right button once, deactivates the alarm, indicators flash X1.

note: also by turning on the ignition will deactivate the alarm. If you decide to activate the alarm more than one minute after switching off the ignition, you must press the left button for longer than one second. If you leave the bike unprimed for longer than approx one hour, the anti theft alarm shuts itself down in order to minimise the power drain on the battery. If you want to activate the alarm after this period of time, you must switch on the ignition and then off again.

Turning on the beep: see pics below. :thumb

Hope this sorts you out shep.

Hi shep, hows the GSA12 going.

Thanks for the info :thumb That Clives a bit quick on the draw, can't have enough work to do :D

The new GSA's a bit of a surprise, I thought the feel would be similar to the GS, but the suspension gives a much plusher ride, a more relaxed feel, i know i'm running in at the moment, but it feels different all the same  :thumb

Mine's running on anakees at the moment, certainly not as planted as the 020's i had on the GS, but they are OK and suit the look of the bike a bit better.

Bars are different to the GS, a bit wider (1/2" - 1"). Tanks great, I'm still on the first tankfull at 330mls

Picking up the luggage tomorrow from Metal Mule and will have a fiddle with the suspension after i've fitted them. Should improve quite a bit with the damping fine tuned :)

Centre and side stands are fantastic, a great improvement over the GS's i've had

Also its nice to have a proper rack, rather than the GS one (i found that a product of image rather than function)

I'll report again once all the luggage is fitted :thumb

Regards Shep
