Hi,

Done a search but only found an answer to this question re: 1150's...so:
I want to fit an Optimate (direct to battery terminals to avoid canbus problems) but wondered if ther is any problems with diconnecting the battery e.g. impact upon the puter, ABS, any other settings etc. The GSA is an 07 spec.

Thanks in anticipation.:thumb2

There is no need to disconnect the batteryfor normal charging

Thanks for the reponse terayon, that sounds an easy job then.

Hi, harry, I was only planning on disconnecting the battery once, i.e. to fit the Optimate leads to the battery terminals.

Cheers both.

The handbook recommends turning the ignition on and - before starting - slowly but fully opening the throttle and returning. Helps the TPS (Thottle Position Sensor) works things out, apparently.

If you put your alarm into service mode (usually done by pressing the alarm fob button while the ignition is on and then turning the ignition off) it'll beep every 20 seconds or something, but you won't have to deal with the siren screaming at you.

I've just changed my battery so did both the above, and it's all fine. :thumb2

Thanks Robin, just read the manual and read your point about the EMS registering the throttle position, I skim read the manual when the GSA arrived but clearly missed out that section:blast Thanks for that.
