I won't be changing my 2015 GSA, suits me perfectly and after being Hilltopped is smoother than a smooth thing on smooth FM... Pulls like a train, never had any issues with the quick shifter and i actually prefer the looks of the pre 1250 bikes...
Which is exactly what they did .
You’d think for the 1250 they would have integrated it like KTM did on 1290.
I had assumed they left it like that so like the Ducati MTS1200, if you lost the key when out there is an override that you key in a pin and away you go. Maybe not ?
The only other way is to start the bike is to give it a reach around with the spare dongle and have a feel around under the rear wheel arch until you get her going.
Lift rear seat off ?Yep. Lift rear seat off and place fob-dongle thingy so it's touching the wheel arch mid point and you can start the bike.
you dont need to remove the seat, you place the key underneath the plastic shit shield
Didn't know that. Thought it was the same as for earlier bikes.

I’ve always thought that was a daft place to put it, as you’d be scrabbling around the dirty underside of the bike. It would make much more sense to put the sensor higher up, nearer the front of the bike. Like KTM does!![]()
They all had same system from day one when it got introduced on GS/A range. There is receced area on the underside of mudguard at the rear that is where you hold the plastic key up against. no need to remove the seat. Have you read the instructions manual?![]()
There's an indented circle to place it on.
Gawd n bennet
So it wasn't just me that thought the new GSA looked ........ shite.
That silver bit looks like an after thought and also looks more like the standard GS.
