I don't understand why some clueless BMW haters congregate in a BMW enthusiast forum and piss on bikes and members ?
And then wince & whine when they get the proper answer or even get called out !
Anyways this is not about people or religion like Hilltop but the new R 1250 GS due to be released any day :thumby:
And yes I must admit if the numbers are true I'm slightly disappointed that we don't see a 5 or at least a 4 as the second number but at least 140 NM torque is a SERIOUS number...:beerjug:
And the rest the GS is still untouchable for fast roadriding especially when the pavement is not as smooth as a womans behind except maybe for a well ridden S1000XR...:D
I hope to see a R1250GS in black with 17 inch wheels right from the factory ready for a testride with my mind and checkbook open at the dealership in spring 2019...:thumby:
Or that all new R 1250 S...:thumby:
Hope 2019 will be as exiting as 1999 when the R1100S came out or 2009 when the S1000RR blew everyone and especially the naysayers away...:)

Excellent thread!

£12 worth every penny :bounce1

Putting an end to his shit .. I really need an end as I’m fucked of with his and your digs at this side of the forum , I have only ever posted the truth , facts and never got my so called balls or cock out , I ride hard , I take risks but I don’t say shit I do not mean , so like I have said if he / you wish to sort it out and end this constant dig dig on the gs side so be it Block rules apply

But you line them up, and we shoot them down! Come on, lighten up a bit! :D

You’re repeating yourself again. :blast

We get it, you’re excited. Now go and have a lie down. Or a cold shower.

Fuc it , I’m going to buy another Ktm and grow the fuc up

Do it. Unless you’re scared :green gri

All I can say it is time for BMW to release the 1250 GS fast...:D
So we can bitch about only 137 hp,140nm TORQUE that will chew up rear tires too fast and the new too big TFT screen...;)
STICK don't join them,BEAT them on your new GS...:thumb

Agree with you
I would rather cut my (in brackets for the Ktm riders as they are a bit thick )balls off and feed them to the gulls .. GS thro and thro like a stick of rock ..... no fear for me , as I’m (apparently according to the orange side ) a riding god ( thanks guys as I must have passed you as your standard Ktm suspension wallowed and your over powerful steeds throw you into a corner that you can’t deal with ) and will continue to test the new bike , along with new tyres and new roads and give , I hope , a realistic and honest view of how some who rides hard find the bikes . This I hope would give others a decent and honest view if the bikes . Okay if you you don’t fine
I don’t commute
I don’t do queues
I don’t care about mpg
I don’t care about tyres
I only care about how I feel as I enter a corner and know I will make it round , this one and the next .
Okay brands differ but BM have it right .
I know (for me) as I have tried and tested all 👍

Dont buy one with ESA if you ride hard.. get the Aldi spec and FIT some decent K-tech or TTX

Done the Wilburs , Maxton and ktec and to honest as good as they are I would say that the current system on the ( mines a 2017 ) is great and works as it should . Unless Wilburs or Ohlins etc can do a total system change rather than a piggy back system ( using bm originals with brand add ons) then it would be worth the 2k change .
My 2011 tc was fully Wilbur (piggy backed )but even with the system, the new post 13 bikes are better .imho
To add , you can alter a bike with suspension , but start putting 17 conversions and you will take it away from the original concept and development of a bike .
If it needs 17 inch wheels the factory will factor in all the tweeks that a home build cannot , or will ever match.
I have built many project bikes that are brilliant but always lack that factory finish , if you know what I mean .
Don’t compromise a good concept , it’s only full of problems .

Stick we are cut from the SAME wood.I don't care about what magazines say or what brands wins in MotoGP or wsb.It doesn't mean sheet.I know bikes after 35 season on road & track. And when I read how reliable KTM's are or how TL kills "feedback" I just have to laugh...:D
On the road there is NOTHING that can touch a GS except for a GS with 150 hp,17 inch wheels and less weight:thumby:
If you can't beat sportbikes on twisty backroads it is definitely not the bike but the rider to blame...
Except for maybe the S1000XR...;) but I hate chains and don't want my legs exposed in a crash which I had plenty as there is only 2 forms of riders. Those who have been down and those who will go down !
Skid I have TTX on my 2017GSADV but I'm honest with you and would not do it again because the difference to ESA set on max/2-up dynamic is not as big as the cash outlay to upgrade.Maybe if Ohlins were ESA compatible I would do it again. They work great but not 2 grand better as the stock system already works very well.I don't care about comfort I just want the wheels stick to the road and the bike stable. The TTX are more comfortable and super compliant.Great product but not 2 grand greater. All the other stuff fromwilbers, maxton or touratech I don't care about as OHLINS is SUSPENSION and knows their stuff and has the R&D,money and experience like no other !

Stick forgot to mention that I second what you said about the popular 17 inch wheel conversion of the GS.
Not to take anything away from the people who have done so as the bikes look great and probably ride great on the road too.
But only the factory can do this properly if you factor in the fact that you'll loose high speed stability and 2,5 cm ground clearance on the front ! both can be crucial if you want to take full advantage of being able to run faster on real sport rubber...
That is why I hope the factory will offer a 17 inch "XR version of the GS for street riders/trackday goers...:thumby:

New gs
