I aim to carry out this service as looking at service schedule it's oil and filter change
My main question is is there any fault codes that will appear, if so what will I need to do to clear them

For oil & filter it’s dead simple

However, you’ll need either MotoScan and an OBD scanner or a GS911 to reset the service indicator

giz a shout mate i am local,do the job and giz a shout i will clear the service light for you,as long as you have done the work

12 thousand is brake fluid and valve gaps

also to keep your warrantee up,buy your oil and filter from the dealers and get them to put your number plate on your receipt.

correct, service intervals are annual or 6k whichever comes first, mine done in june and included brake fluid, being 12 months since last service.

Can you do the 6K or annual service yourself without prejudice to the BMW 3-year warranty?

When I bought the 1250 I was told the services were 600, 6000 or 12 months , 12,000 or 2 years, then sales staff told it me was 600, then if bike did say 4000 miles in a year it was 12 months service and then at 6,000 miles (even if that was only 3 months later) which I thought was incorrect.

Queried it at the 600 mile service and was told it was wrong and it was 600, then 6000 or 12 months etc , however , one change since my last 1200 was that in the past the 6000/ 12 months service was always 12 months after date of first registration.

Now it is stamped in the service book that it is 12 months after the date of first service or at 6000 miles, so my bike which was registered in Nov 2021 but did not get its first service until April 2022 is not due its annual service until April 2023 or 6000 miles whichever comes first
