Out earlier today. After a breakfast stop we went for a ride. Stopped again after maybe 20 mins. Bike switched off. 5 mins later ready to leave and bike wont start. All the symptoms of a flat battery or one with low voltage.
I suspect the power cable from battery to starter isn't man enough.
Called BMW Assist but I managed to coax it into life myself before they arrived.
A bit miffed at this as it ruined our ride out.
Has anyone had a proper cure from BMW and not just a replaced battery ?
R1250GSA Rallye TE 2019 is the bike.
Same here - on a few occasions (very randomly) this summer when re starting the engine the starter would just click and not spin, if I immediately pushed the starter button again, hey presto, all would be good. I thought nothing of it and I put it down to a glitch!
However last week it happended but this time no luck on restarting - battery seemed as dead as a door nail. Luckily I was on my driveway and had tools to hand so I popped off the battery side cover and found that the battery earth terminal screw was loose (not hanging off loose - but just needed 3/4 of a turn to fully tighten) - I tightened the terminal and its been ok since. I also checked the pos terminal and that was OK.
Just for belt and braces! I checked the battery charge state afterwards and found the the battery was fully charged and in good condtion (using my Optimate).
