12v socket still live

Hi guys

Can anyone help i have jsut done and engine swap on my R1200gs (2007) now the 12v socket under the seat is still live . as most will know this switches off after you switch of the ignition. Am i missing something simple?????

Swap the engine back! You are doomed!!!

Actually, I think the socket stays hot for a time delay after the ign is turned off. Check it again after say 3 minutes.

I put a 12V socket there wired to the battery via a fuse (kit from Motorworks, I think) to make sure I can run a compressor which is inclined to trip the canbus-supplied accessory socket. I left the original socket connected and lounging in the plastic tray under the tool-roll.
 
Thanks I swapped the engine as I managed to put a value into the top of the piston.
I was thinking of putting all the ancillaries I run through a fused box. But would really like the original socket working properly.
