14th year!

The route I use that has some tolls but as few as I think you must do to get moving to Sid and Ann's is -----
tunnel then A16 then A28 around Rouen then sth on N154 to A10 then A71 sth past Orleans at Vierzon take A20 sth to Exit 53
get off and travel the lovely D820 to Just past Cahours N653 and N656 = just over 20 yo yo in tolls IIR ( car prices )
We stay either at Rouen or Chartres or Limoges dependant on time crossing channel.
I have done and tried lots of other ways over the last 10 years = this suits me and my wife best.
Sad I know but I know where to fill up cheap too !!!!!!! :thumby: :D

HTHY all

So, based on these instructions, I created a myrouteapp route - seems to be what is recommended so will give it a go.

Here it is if you want to use it as I will take this route down and will be stopping at a campsite roughly half way down.
[edit] - Point 4 is where I am most likely going to camp.

A few people have kindly offered to bring supplies especiaaly those driving camper vans.
Two things we need.
Cider and bacon. Both hard to get in these parts.
I will of course fully reimburse you for the cost.
Cheers
Sid

Sid,
I'll pop into Costco and get a load of smoked bacon

Neil

Don't mind on the cider. We used to get the Winckley Devon scrumpy in 20 litre boxes but anything will do.
Many thanks
Anything I can bring you from Eastern Portugal or Central Spain?
I'm on a bike and don't have a fridge like NeilDD!

Sid, picked up 11 litres of Cider today. Will that be enough? If not, please advise of quantity needed.
Cheers.

Can any of the locals provide a long to short term weather forecast please

Need to know if i need to pack my speedo's and suncream, or waterproofs and a brolly

:)

As the weather is going to be shite for the next few days over here , i did a packing dry run

wasn't going to use the top box , but looking at what i can get in it , as opposed to packing it all on the backseat/ pannier tops it will get used

Not much more on the list to cross off, in the way of required items - just some insurance to do and that should be it ...

I stayed in Limoes on the way to here, Portugal.
My hotel was shit but the Campanile across the road was very good. There was also a Novotel overlooking the lake.
