Unfortunately, I've got a couple if issues on my new GSA  Nothing major, but i asked them to look at the issues last week at the 600 mile service, other than bleeding the front brakes, nothing else was done......:blast So its going back tomorrow and they have ordered some new parts. Anyone had any of the following??

1) The bike doesn't recognise when its in Neutral. Once the bike is warm, it will start registering neutral some of the time, but not always and never with the engine switched off. Mechanically, I’ve had no problem finding or getting the bike into neutral (it just doesn't recognise it)

2) The front brake lever has to be set to level 4 to be usable. The lever has to be pulled far too close to the grip for the brakes to work correctly. Unlike the 2 other GSA’s I’ve ridden or my GS which i had for 8500 miles.

3) The left sat-nav jockey wheel side to side motion isn’t correct, it’s very wooly and does’t engage precisely and doesn't always trigger the movement on the sat-nav unit.

RE point 1and 3 get it back to the dealer , that's not right , not ever an issue on mine

Re point 2 I agree the lever does not seem as direct as a twin cam's front brake , I have mine set at number 4,and it stops fine , just not as hard as my twin cam

Switch gear problems are known issues since release of the model in 2014, I ran my 2014 gsa lc and 2011 gsa tc back to back for 12 months and the brakes on the lc felt exactly the same as the older bike , sounds like a problem with the front brakes on your bike

I've had my 2016 for three weeks now and had none of the issue you described. Not sure what position my brake lever is set to though, never had to think about it I suppose but I can check later if you want.

This is Vines, but don't worry about checking your bikes i know its wrong :D

They are sorting it out, but don't think it should have been sold like it!

It must be something to do with changing the panels. The bike obviously now thinks its one of the 2014 models with all the teething problems!:P

Mine is a late 2014 GSA and i had to adjust brake lever as described above for reach only, the neutral thing ive noticed also at times a bit of an issue with but not to the extent I would consider it a fault.
Hope this helps

SHIT!!

looks like there are a few GS's with a selector drum fault and i got one. The drum is too tight (who knows why). Short story.... my dealers been back and fourth with Germany all day and it needs a new gearbox. Which i think means the engine has to come out..... ARSE!!

Talk to Duncan at Vines and tell him I told you to reject the bike!:D

I wouldn't be happy with having a brand new bike taken apart.:rob

Perhaps it is a 2014 bike.... one they had left over.....

can you really reject a bike for a gearbox fault?

I don't want it messed with at all, but if it needs a new gearbox, it needs a new gearbox

Of course you can't, give the dealer a chance to fix it

You lot reject bikes at the drop of a hat:D

Of course you can. If the bike is less than a month old and they want to pull the engine out, I know what I'd be doing.
