Im thinking of doing the 17inch front wheel conversion with the wider rear wheel on an 08 gs,can anybody give feedback as to what is involved in this, costs, benefits, etc. Also my GS is a lowered frame model, will this make any difference to my proposals ? Thanks in advance

Steve,

post your e-mail address and I will send you the details of costs and what you need to do the conversion and some fotos of the R1200S wheels on my ex 07 12GS (they are for sale by the way!!!).

you could also subscribe for the princely sum of £12 and then you can send private messages amongst other priviledges.

in the mean time do an advanced search for 'supermoto' and user 'Yonkyo',
this should give you some food for thought.

have fotos and details at home on my computer, but have to go to the pub for a bike meet tonight, :beerjug: :thumb2 :thumb2

will e-mail when i get home afterwards.

Miff, the conversion only drops the fron about 1", if you are serious about struggling with tiptoes you should look at:

1) low seat
2) shorter rear suspension
3) lowered frame.

although I guess an inch can make all the difference :augie

I am getting the seat re-sculptured on Tuesday. A mate is an upholsterer, and has recovered many seats for me.

Am also considering a Hyperpro spring lowering kit.

I just fancy a 17" front wheel. Better tyre choice.

I'm a serial fiddler....
