I have an opportunity to buy (my old) 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead. But I will need to sell the R90S to make this happen.
You can easily read about my experiences on the Airhead forum. It's been a learning curve, but one well supported by the other forum members.

The latest is that the bike is running nicely, is largely original and is available. I've ridden around 200 miles on the bike since buying it in early September. With 100 miles ridden last week.

Condition:
Original paint it is marked and there is a (repaired) crack on the dash by the clock.
The spokes have a bit of rust, but are sound.
It has YSS shocks installed, but comes with a set of Koni's
Think there is a BMW spare screen, also yellowed.
Comes with panniers, but from a later model, so bigger.

I purchased the bike in September 2026 locally from somone who had owned it for a year, but never rode it. (He was a British bike enthusiast).

Since purchase I have:
  • Service with oils, filters and plugs changed.
  • Removed the sump plate, no glitter, new gasket, new stainless sump plug and fasteners.
  • Set the valve clearances.
  • Fitted a new positive battery cable.
  • Installed a Boyer Bransden Micro Digital ignition.
  • Installed a new AGM battery. (Exide)
  • Installed a new starter motor (Enduralast).
  • Stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt the carburetors.

Here's the history that comes with the bike.

Original(?) Owners manual, dealer wallet, MOT certificates and tax discs.
Photocopies from the DVLA of all previous owners, back to first registration in Feb 1976.
Invoices back to 2011 and a list of work undertaken from the previous but one, owner who had it for over a decade.
