2003 1150gs no battery light

my recently acquired project has passed its mot and is roadworthy !
unfortunately the battery and neutral light do not work and i cant remember if it worked or not when i first got it!
the alternator is charging battery good there is power to the bulb 12v but no light. when i put the tank back on yesterday connected up then turned the ignition on it came on but so do the low fuel light albeit very faintly, kicked up the side stand and off they went again.

all earths cleaned and good including earth on the alternator.

any ideas where to look cant see any obvious damage anywhere.
recent new battery
gear indicator works

Blue wire to alternator?

take it off and ground it with ignition on

Light comes on ? Wire and that circuit good

Path to earth through contact and brushes is suspect

Should be charging at 14 ish volts

Guess I am going to start looking for a fault with that wire

Go to the Bulb first! and change it for a known good one

Bulb all good.
Stripped all the outer sheath off and one wire wasn’t connected so Cut back and re soldered the wires back together all good now neutral light and battery light back on.
