Red Kite Rally

Re tyres
On my regs (quote) Note change to original reg's:
Trail and sports bikes :
Front and rear tyres must be ANY fully ROAD LEGAL and "E" marked
N.B.Tyres marked NHU(not for highway use)or similar.non speedrated tyres and ANY motocross tyres are specifically EXCLUDED from this event.

Richie,

Nice XR!

Now that the Rally organisers have seen sense and allowed any 'road legal' tyres there is no need to fit the more expensive and faster wearing FIM - Approved enduro tyres.

For general green-laning go for the Mich AC10's and for dry gravelly tracks like the Cambrian with road use thrown in you can't really beat the Pirelli MT21's.

Both these tyres can now be used in the Rallies.

See you at the Red Kite?

Cheers, Rick.

have you seen these rick, going to take these to portugal

Myself, Brian E and another guy from Newcastle are entering and will be camping at the Rugby site.

Loz,

They look good all-rounders. Made a mistake with the Red Kite regs, they are same as last year, no 'crosser tires so no AC10's etc. I'm on Mich Baja's - slightly softer version of the Dessert - should be good for Portugal as well.

It's the Rydale where they have relaxed the regs to include any road legal tires. WTRA are still sticking to their guns on this front!

Edit:

contents of email just recieved from Kevin, the event sec.:

*_Note Change to Original reg’s : Trail and Sports Bikes : Front and
rear tyres_*_ *must* be *ANY* fully *ROAD LEGAL* and *“E”*
marked.*N.B.* Tyres marked N.H.U. (Not for Highway Use) or similar,
non-speed rated tyres and *ANY* motocross tyres are specifically
*EXCLUDED* from this event

So AC10's et al ARE ALLOWED!

See you all at the Rugby Club on Easter Sat. :thumb

Cheers, Rick

No 142. :bounce1

Serious question though, does anyone have the OS Grid Ref or Lat / Long co-ordinates for the re-fuelling point? I know it says "the exact location will be given at signing-on" but isn't that a bit late? :nenau I was hoping to take my petrol up before scrutineering / signing on.

If its the same as last year, a small group of us got together and took our fuel to the "pit area" the night before. I think most people were doing the same. I plan to do the same this time. If you want yours taking, Iwill be camping at the rugby club. (51 plate mauve coloured 3 door Focus)
