2009-02-22 - Event - Salisbury Plain Enduro

Following on from Bakes previous thread, I thought I'd beat him to posting this one (well it's the only thing I'm likely to beat him at in relation to this event )

I'm just received and entry form having been a starter in the last event

Course will be in the same area as last time the area that you are normally not out of bounds to the public.

Last time I managed a grand total of 0 (yes, zero) laps... think you can beat that

in all truth I had a great day even if I didnt complete a lap. the event is well run, there's a great mix of people but everyone I came across (or rather got in the way of) was really friendly and helpful

If you missed out last time, this could be your turn to shine!

I can't promise it will be the same this time, but the event I did the entry form had lots to check and do and write on your bike etc, but when I got there on the day all they wanted to see really was my helmet and to make sure the bike controls were all safe and sound. All pretty sensible really.

There's no on-road at all, I think the only tyre restriction was that they should be black and round, but I don't think they'd have worried too much about that either

Sent the cash and application - now just wait and see.Have to admit to being slightly nervous as this is my first enduro race so not sure what to expect.The opportunity to ride for three hours on the out of bounds tank testing area on the plain is too good to miss.

I've been practicing around my woods today so gradually getting the feel for the KTM 300.

Checked the web site today and I now on the list starting at number 20.No going back now! Do you know if Setra give you ther race numbers or do you need to get them yourself,are there any colours or special background colours reqd for the sportsman class.

Stay here again if you wish, been on my back for 2 weeks not able to move much.

Noway am I going to make the day fitness wise, as not been training.

There`s plenty of cheats course jumping so I can be a NAZI for a day
