Hi all,

I commuted into work on the 23rd (around 17 miles) and as I got to my office the fuel gauge on my GSA dropped from full to completely empty and the warning light came on however the distance to go said 280 miles, very odd.

We only worked the morning so I thought I'd nip to Williams in Manchester and get it looked at, as I set off the distance to go started counting down but it was knocking a mile off for every 0.1 miles. Williams had shut early so I thought I'd bang some fuel in just to be on the safe side, £7 brimmed it.

Contacted Williams over Christmas and they said bring it in on the 29th and we'll take a look, turns out the fuel sensor had gone pop and they replaced it under warrenty :thumb2

Apparently if the sensor is cold when its calibrated this causes problems, so if it happens on yours then this is probably why (I don't know why, condensation perhaps?).

Great service from Williams, moved house between the fault appearing and getting it to them so I thought I'd struggle to find my insurance doc's. Called me back and said they had them from the last service, no probs just bring your licence. :clap

Happy new year all,

Jamie

Common problem. Most of us have had the same issues with the fuel sensor going on the fritz.

Mine seems to do the reverse !
When I fill up to the brim, it tells me I only have 100 miles or so left in the tank.
Then, as I ride, it will gradually count up to the 300 mile mark, taking about 3 miles to do so.
It then counts down normally - as it's not a big issue & has done this ever since I got it, I've not bothered mentioning it to my dealer.
My K1200S shoots straight up within a couple of minutes ( mind you, it counts down a fecking sight quicker too !)

I'm due a 6000 mile service soon, should I be asking them to look at it whilst it's all still under warranty ?
