2013 New Aqua 1200GS - Price?

Has no one mentioned the TE version???......

Just looked at the receipt for my 59 gsa, and fully loaded the previous owner paid £16895 for it three years on most of the estimates here look cheap to me. My guess for premium\dynamic level £14750.

Basic price £ 12895
Pack 1 £685
Pack 2 £792
Pack 3 584

Really...............

I think the Base price will be c. £12k...............then everything 'ex-works':blast

Current 12GS is about £10 ish...............bare, but don't forget ABS is now mandatory, so will add at least £750, if not £1000 to the base cost

Perhaps they won't make a GSA now, or if they do they will just add the single seat/spoke option as seen in some the pics - perhaps a GSA model makes no sense now, just dilutes the GS brand and adds weight

I think it'll be a wee bit more expensive than the current model!

I wonder if having a liquid cooled motor will 'dilute' the brand?:D

FP.

The last GS was £11,750 (IIRC) out of the crate.
Add the 2 packs at around £2,300 and you're nearly at £14K so can' see the new one being cheaper especially as you've now got other extras like cruise to pay for.

The price of last 1100GS at the dealers was £9K+ .

The new 1150 was actually cheaper when it went on sale, all the dealers had said it would be more expensive . :D

Tell me about it....

When i bought my 1100 new in July 1999 it was £9,070 with panniers, and that was with a discount.

Three weeks later in August 1999 the 1150 was launched.... £750 cheaper :blast

The new 1200 will be about £13,850 I recon.

JB..........can you please explain how ABS is mandatory..............have I missed something?

That may be true but the difference these days is the recent(ish) idea of all the different 'packs' that are ex factory and your typical modern day GS owner seems to love 'em. With even more options available than ever on the new GS it's very easy to bump up the price of a GS to something very much higher than the base model. Basically a price rise by stealth :thumb

Thank you JB and Andres, I presume from your replies that BMW have decided not to manufacture them without ABS rather than the faceless in Brussels imposing it on them just yet.

That excuses me from having one then......................... thanks!

I think the base model will start around £11,800,going up to a fully specced version at around £14,500. with the option to take it even higher once the Adventure kit is released.

I don't think there will be a specific adventure model but you will be able to adventurize the basic model i.e adventure tank, seat, suspension, and screen.
Each item will be priced individually, which would give any short arses such as myself to buy the adventure kit but with the standard suspension.

The reason behind my thinking is that if you look at BMW's MINI brand they have had enormous success with this approach.

Getting people into the showroom with attractive basic prices and good finance deals but adding 1000's on to the base price with extras and essentials is the way that it's done these days.

Well reasoned & I think you're bang on

The pics with single seat/spokes led me to a similar conclusion

There is no reason to build an Adv model when all can be factory ordered to your choice

I like the idea of being able to order a standard bike + Adventure tank and screen. As a shortarse, the Adventure was too tall for me and as someone who likes making progress ;) the soft, long travel suspension and high centre of gravity spoilt the handling.

Would be great to have the standard bike, with a quick swap adventure tank and screen for holidays and long trips :thumb

Best of both worlds.
