I have an affected 2014 RT, and I must say so far customer service has been excellent. Just like BMmike a swift delivery of a new 320d and now the change to a loan bike in the very near future (flipping company car tax vs motorbike). CW's as usual have been excellent and reaffirmed to myself the service they provide.
Now I understand that BMW need some space in order to figure out what is going on etc and to figure out fix timescales, as Im sure that stopping a production line is not exactly a cheap thing to do (what with wages, machines and sunk capital just sat)
But and it is a big J-Lo sized BUT, with the new age of social media, connected world etc it is not good enough to apparently offer advise, compensation and communication in one market and apparently not in another. Even an offer of we will have some news out on xx date or we will provide info via social media platforms. they will be running daily or 48 hourly progress meetings, surely its not hard to filter some information out? i.e. problem isolated, further testing required likely duration xx days, fixed identified looking at options etc. Even an acknowledgement that the BMWNA internal compensation memo has been leaked has would be good even to state not available in all markets.
