2020 KTM 1290 Superduke vs 2019 1250 GS-HP

It has been proven again and again that there is no substance to his 'tune'. Of all the tested bikes there has to this day NEVER been found any trace of tuning in ANY of the tested bikes.

The HT guy shows his desk of seemingly impressive equipment in various videos.
It's all analouge, with no digital recording capability and is completely useless handling and reading a digital ECU. And his explanations published in the videos are completely meaningless. They make no sense..

Well perhaps you should go see for yourself rather believe something you read on the internet , otherwise you are also pissing in the wind .

And yet, the company that was going to sue him, and the apparent police investigation all fizzled out and came to nothing. ;)

Keep believing everything you read online though, then spreading more defamatory rumours. Well done. :blast

Yup, Geoff at Hilltop has completely fooled thousands of customers including many professional race teams and TT winners . You heard it here from an old know-it-all in deepest Scandinavia.....he must be right because he read it on the internet. Muppet .

Well, you can lead the horse to the river, but you can not force it to drink...

Of the two sides in this debate, there is one side that shows sensible proof, and there is one side that talks utterly nonsens, making claims that holds no water and is not doable in the practical world.
I may not be a riding God, but I do understand computers and ECU's.

It's a free world, and anyone may spend their money at their own will. It's not my problem, I'm just pointing it out.

Based on previous experience I'll say no more about the subject in this thread...

I’m glad that I had my HT remap done at no cost to me as the difference in my bike is very noticeable. So a free upgrade and me with no axe to grind yet still happy to say how much better it is. Go figure.....:augie

Stanley like the idiot making the video you obviously don't know much about riding either...What is the point about having 180 hp if you can't use it ? W.F.O. means you get the advertised hp/nm at 10000rpm...But unfortunately it is not really put to good use as is going fast forward but to bring the front up...:( Gears 5 and 6 are overly tall so that the bike feels weak but this is at 125 mph + where the wind-pressure is so strong that is no fun but this is the nature of the Beast being a naked bike.As for the clown talking about how great the handling is the guy has no clue.Twitchy at low speeds when you steer quick and at speeds faster than 65 pretty slow steering...:(
Best bike for 2020 - Not !
But I guess a great bikes for Hooligans...whatever that means...:P
Ready to Race - Definitely not ! For that the engine needs 1000 rpm over-rev and the geometry of the frame has to be changed to make it more stable at lower speeds and quicker steering had higher speeds as as it is it sucks donkey balls...:D And to top it off the guy knocks the Ducati for being easier to ride and not wheelieing enough...What an idiot...:thumb2 At least he should have shown us a proper wheelie to back up his Hooligan B.S....;)
The power of the marketing propaganda...:thumb
Thanks Arsey for posting this...The guy made me laugh because first I thought he would pick the new Honda CBR1000RR-R...The first 1000 that has a weaker mid-range than a 600...A marvel of japanese engineering :thumb
The KTM at least strong between 7-10K rpm when the rev-limiter hits the brakes...hard !

This long thread was started (among many others) by Boxerlust hoping that BMW will make a 170 bhp boxer twin. I don't think they ever will unless forced induction is used. Everyone knows the boxer twin engine doesn't lend itself to high revs (and therefore high power) due to pumping losses suffered by the 2 big pistons descending simultaneously. Even at a lowly 6,000 rpm the underside of those pistons is displacing 1.25 litres of air 100 times per second into a crankcase causing pressure fluctuations.
A 360° parallel twin suffers the same inherent problem too.
Now a 180° opposed twin (imagine a 'L' twin Ducati engine with the cylinders forced down until 180° apart instead of 90°) would have much improved pumping losses if the pistons shared the same crank pin because the pistons would 'chase each other' up and down the bores ...but then primary balance becomes a problem. The only way to get BIG reliable power from a boxer twin is keep the revs down and blow it in my opinion. Probably the reason why racing history isn't littered with ultra successful boxer twins I suppose. So don't hold your breath 'Lusting after a Boxer' if big power is your goal. They do make very nice relatively smooth engines though, that's why I've got one .

Has anyone got a fucking straight jacket? Folks are now coming in here talking sense, spoiling it for everyone except Bl.

So the rev limiter is connected to the brakes or have I reached overload, you must have come top at' class in bullshit n nonesense. I once read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and that made more sense than you.

Boxerlust. Why are you so taken in by a marketing tag line? "Ready to race" is just that. Do you really think that all KTMs are ready to race? Are you really that gullible? Maybe don't answer that last one.

I had a Suzuki but I didn't "own the racetrack" and as for "You meet the nicest people on a Honda", well I've met some right cnuts who ride them.

Hey Mr Boxer - How about posting some on bike footage of your fast rides? I used to have fun around the twisties on my GSs but because I'm a wimp and our shitty roads never pushed it too hard. Maybe I'll learn how to have proper fun again?

Until then I'll ride locally on my Monkey or Grom.

Boxerlust, can I have your email address to forward this to you ?

I did not see this video.

After I saw his video where he was able to detect a 'huge difference' after having his bike HT'd he lost every bit of creditability in my book.

To me, he has demonstrated total lack of judgment, detecting massive change out of nothing... His 'message' is worth less than a piss in the wind...

Strange that Lamb Chop took down the video praising the HT remap and subsequently went to CJS and still saw a healthy increase and massive improvement over the HT version.

According to Mr P T Barnum, that makes sense :beerjug:

And he was not all that happy with is first 'tune' any longer.
Any chance that the 'tuner' puts some sort of happy-juice in the tea that is being served with the biscuits? :jager
There is another Video from another guy. and he is soooo impressed by the improvement even before the bike is rolled of they dyno...

Let’s hope so.

Well done, you managed to resist for a whole 12 hours !!!

Please, let’s not start another Hilltop thread.
Let’s just agree that a pensioner sat in his armchair in Norway knows more about the subject than the many 1000s of customers, including numerous race teams such and multiple TT winners such as Michael Dunlop....
You’ve all been fooled, every single one of you :-)

Now can we get back to the other idiot, currently dreaming of 17” wheels and 170bhp as he blissfully sleeps in California , before waking up for more inane bollox and banter.

Perhaps Boxerlust, kuntk and Stick could form a relay team ? :-)

I'am going to use a big word here; and there's every chance it will be spelt wrong:D ; metaphoricly speaking; about the brakes; i'am assuming; ( but with him being a gas tank i may be wrong ).:beerjug:
