Eh, BMW Motorrad site suggests 219kg fuelled and ready to goThe F900GSA is too heavy at 246Kg against the R1250GS at 249Kg (both wet) as per the Motorrad site. Other than for price when new and insurance costs, then what are the benefits?
I agree would not spend the extra, but I want my BMW to have a boxer engine with horizontally opposed cylinder heads. Same reason you buy a Guzzi or a Porsche. So the F900GS is pretty much the 1200GS (pre water cooled) from a decade ago . Identical bhp at 105, less torque but also 10 kgs lighter . Why spend another £6-8k on a new 1300 ???

So it appears that production of the F850GS that I ordered has been discontinued. The new F900GS does not appear to have been designed with a pillion (or even a topbox) in mind, and does not appeal to me for those reasons. However, I'm of the opinion that both the outgoing F850GSA and the incoming F900GSA have the same dimensions and therefore may not fit in my gate. (At least without a struggle and scratches). Can anyone here confirm the actual width of a 850GSA (at its widest point on the fairing/engine bars.. not the handlebars).Feckit,
I've ordered a new F850GS that I'll be lucky to see before Xmas.... grrrrrr
If I'd known this was coming I might have waited
