2025 KTM 390 Adventure

I saw a YT vid by Nathan the Postman and he's getting a new ADV390 on his fleet but did say unregistered "old" 390's are available for just over 4 grand. Lot of bike for the money and very capable. He's had no issues with his and it's had a hard life.

Sounds like April for delivery. So I guess reviews will be a while yet.

Same with MT deliveries. I have the Honda I'm not using so no rush.

+ this one.. (although no actual riding in this one)

Check 1:40mins. That's laughable. Heel hits the side-stand, the side stand has a switch....it cuts the power. Man that's so basic. I guess we remove the switch, but that's crap.

They way they've designed those levers - best take some spares. I wouldn't rely on Bark Busters to never twist. Lose the clutch or brake and that'll be an early bath if you don't have spares.

Any news on UK deliveries? I'll ask the dealer today. A few weeks ago they said unlikely to be this year.
Other than these issues (we always expect some with new KTM models) I can see a load of these being sold. I chatted to a guy with MT 450 and it's a solid bike and sounded ace as he rode off, but who knows if and when more MT's will arrive here in uk and in the review above the KTM looks easier to manage weight wise, although the way the MT carries its weigh might compensate.

Agreed .
Ian at Big Rock Moto is worth following on YouTube he puts out great content and will no doubt carry out sensible mods

Yeah, followed him for years now. I don't love his manner if I'm honest, but his attention to details is pretty good. Easy to underestimate the work that goes into his type of videos. Plus he walks the talk quite well when riding the bikes.

I see on the KTM accessories they are selling ASV flip up levers for £90 a side. It's a shame they arent offering a cheaper barkbusters option as they do for the 690 in the accessories.

Spoke to my local dealer and they have a small number coming in August, but think they are all spoken for. I know another dealer has stopped taking deposits as the bikes they know are coming are spoken for. If you want one and havent got your name down I'd do it asap.

I did wonder whether to go down my original planned path of a 690 enduro and there is 1 new one still at £8999 in Cornwall, but think I'm going to hang on for a bit longer.

That's a good deal for one of those, same weight as a CRF300 / DRZ400 with almost twice the power of the DRZ and closer to 3X the power of the CRF and really good suspension....

....Although I'd still be nervous KTM aren't about to unload 300,000 unsold motorcycles in a huge firesale, however I doubt those would drop that much, historically the 690R's have not been subject to the end of season give-aways (or else I would have one in my garage)

Chat with dealer. Mine could arrive next month he says. We'll see. But the Big Rock review makes me think the 390 will trump the MT450. I Doubt that I will push more than 70 on a bike like this so the vibe issue shouldn't be a problem. The side stand issue looks pretty serious though. I guess people could just link out the switch. I'm sure there will be an aftermarket replacement along at some point.

Purely on weight, for off-road the KTM will be better. It sounds like yours is coming quite early, I'm told mine is now due August. Hopefully by then the availability of bashplate/barkbusters/luggage will be a bit better.

Great review, makes me quite excited about getting it (y) .

KTM's UK Powerparts catalogue has just been updated to show costs for Quickshifter and Cruise control. Lots of people (particularly Americans) seem unhappy that the bike they displayed at EICMA had the QS and CC fitted, but its KTM's right to amend specs as they see fit.
